A Meaningful Visit to a Nursing Home by the Nursing Department
Students from the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, as part of their Individual and Family Development course, visited the Alanya Nursing Home in collaboration with the Healthy and Active Life Community. This event helped students improve their communication skills with elderly individuals and gain professional awareness.
Under the guidance of Dr. Pelin Uymaz and Dr. N. Özge Çalışkan Cellatoğlu, the visit involved close interaction with the residents, creating enjoyable and heartfelt moments through conversations. Students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the importance of meeting the social needs of elderly individuals.
The interactions during the visit resulted in a meaningful experience for both the residents and the students. The event once again highlighted the importance of social support in improving the quality of life for elderly individuals.
At the end of the program, thanks were extended to the residents who shared their valuable time with the students and to the nursing home staff for their dedicated efforts.
